The more good news you bring your Creator, the less need you will have to complain about the opposite.
Meditate on those things you have to be thankful for. Express your thanks out loud.
The number of things to kvetch about will rapidly diminish.

absolutely 110% true :). There are things in life you have to get through and you cannot fix them quickly! You have to focus on the positives and not kvetch about what maybe small to begin with, depending on the person! no one likes a negative person or negativity! :( the best medicine is laughter and positive focus always, as much as possible! :) Reply
Guide the strength with good So one complains in prayer. But it is for you to hear yourself and take action on correcting that which you have shared. Reply
No need too!
The breakthrough was in identifying exactly where the problem is, what it is that causes the pain. What I have just faced I will never face again, identity crisis caused by kvetching and fear. G-d moved the stumbling stones, I have the best counsellor in the Universe as long as I seek His presence. Restoration in the making! First I disarmed by asking forgiveness about the kvetching and G-d helped him forgive me. G-d will help with the boundaries too, we still have time! I got to keep my focus on G-d i.e. I am loved by G-d a lover of G-d that's who I am that's what I do.
Thank you for your care

Breakthrough For Celine - The title of your comment sounded promising but the content of your comment didn't. I hope you are seeking some counseling other than this website's comments. I wish you the best. Reply
Breakthrough,... I'm glad I got that word that day, it was "timely". When pain is present, something is wrong but what. I usually, maybe to my detriment, check myself perhaps too often! Once I got a good belly laugh in that moment of time I got it! Sometimes you get a word but it`s not about you it`s actually the cause of the pain, hmm! My pain was actually a boundary problem, a tricky one at that, it`s with my husband. I`d like to think that I`m solution oriented, when it`s time to implement, engage and press in, I get diverted by Kvetching and threatning of Divorce. Pain and fear not love, not G-d! At the same time trees only get rooted deeper when the wind storm comes otherwise how would they get strengthened. Shake everything that can be shaken, thank G-d! Reply
Kvetching is just for Kvetches For Celine - I don't think kvetching is the appropriate term when you're talking about a broken heart. Kvetching is for trivial things. I hope you can find a way past the hurt in your heart and that G-d helps you mend it. Reply
Kvetch/de-kvetch
When I was a teacher in the shul, one of my 5th grade students asked the meaning of kvetch. I used an old story that many will remember ...
A Jewish grandmother is walking along the beach with her grandson when a huge wave catches him and carries him out to sea; she prays and asks G-d to return her grandchild. And a miracle happens; her grandson is returned to her on the next wave. She bends down, picks him up, hugs and kisses him, then looks upward to the heavens and says, "you forgot his hat!"
It is a visual way to explain kvetch and in this case ties in nicely with the concept of "de-kvetching."
Humor has carried me through much of my life and G-d, in his infinite widsdom, has afforded me many opportunities to practice!

De-Kvetching I have long sought for a good, quick way to put that thought into words and you have picked just the right ones! Reply
That was Swift!
Thank You!
That's my song,
Psalm 84:10 an Anthem of freedom, better One day in Your in House, better One day in Your Courts than thousands else where. One thing I ask and I would seek is to see Your Beauty. I'd rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my G-d than to dwell in the tents of the wicked. It's only on earth G-d is Bigger than that! The enemy as been knocking at my door lately, looking to whom he may devour so this is my Anthem of Freedom!
Thank You!
I really enjoy your sense of humour, it tickles me! That feels pretty good right now.

Really cute.. :) Thank you.. and excellent advice...
Like everything else, this too requires practice and is not so easy always.... However then we shall enjoy the fruits of good feelings and happiness
One idea to put it into practice is when looking at anyone, family friends, even strangers, try to think of one nice thing about them that G-d created, after a while it becomes second nature and good feeling abound.. :)

A kvetch is pretty much as you have defined it. The problem is, a kvetch can never be satisfied. Because if he kvetches and you give him what he kvetched for, he feels you only gave it to him because he kvetched, not because you really care.
So don't fall into the eternal kvetching loop. And if you have, jump out of it into the eternal thankfulness loop. Far more gratifying, far more productive.

Been there, done that What's a kvetch? Could it be murmuring and complaining? I'm not clear on the meaning, please, forgive me. The Boss being my G-d wants truth in the inner man. I have a broken heart and unless I bring it to HIM, being thankful can only go so far of course not to be done away with! I lay out the entire problem before the Lord, not because He doesn't know what I'm going through, but because laying it out helps me. It helps me see things from a more objective point of view. I am very honest with G-d more now than before! I am required to act on the wisdom God gives me. Let go of my own methods and put His methods into operation. Be obedient. It's the only thing that can permanently solve the problem. Being thankful only, have not solve this broken heart I have been carrying, I didn't want to look at it, it hurts, I'm allergic to pain like everybody else! I became bitter than I learned to forgive, I thought that's it! I'm in the clear, hmmm,...not quite, I am thankful that G-d is with me. Reply
Better than a gluten-free pie in the face I like this. De-kvetching” is less hostile than “stop whining,” that finger-in-your-face command to think about all the people who blah, blah, blah (insert horrible things here) and realize how petty you are. What’s wrong with a little griping? Like if your water bottle spills into your bag, ruining your cell phone, iPad (for which you are very grateful) and favorite overpriced lipstick. Or if that stupid joke you once posted pingpongs around cyberspace, popping up every time someone googles your name. Perhaps you just feel crabby because the sky is bleached and it’s not even February.
I think it’s good to grumble (for about 10 minutes, max) without getting hit in the face with a big fat sticky bowl of guilt. It frees my mind to focus in meditation. Then I can sometimes begin to grasp the miracle of life—and see more of the shimmering blessings that have come into my own.
