“You are He who is G‑d alone; You made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens and all their host, the earth and all that is upon it, the seas and all that is within them; and You vivify all of them . . .”Nehemiah 9:6

There are three ways by which we know the unknowable You:

You create infinite universes filled with infinite creations, each creature designed with infinite wisdom and sustained by Your infinite power. And so, we know You as “The Infinite.”

Yet You are more than that.

You remain ever-hidden, for if Your presence would be felt, not one thing would remain in existence before Your light. In truth, there is nothing else but You. And so, we know You as “The Absolute Existence.”

Yet You are more than that.

Within this world of concealment, within the discrete and limited bounds You have set for it, You are with us at every moment of need, alive within the small, seamless miracles of our lives, those we rarely notice.

For You transcend knowing and not-knowing, revelation and concealment, miracle and nature, finite and infinite, being and not-being. And You are found in all of these at once.

And so, we know You as You,
for there is nothing else we can say.
