It is such a comfort to find such a source as this site. I spent my entire life thinking I was an Irish Catholic who questioned the Catholic Church more and more frequently, often on a daily basis. I worked in the public sector, a county government. I was the administrator of a Prison Health service, the administrator of two public hospitals. As I moved out of healthcare and into criminal justice, that proverbial mountain to climb seemed to get higher and higher. And then came the DNA test results - not 100% Irish Catholic but 50% and the other 50% to be Polish and Jewish. And then a friend introduced me to Chabad. Now it is one day at a time, one step at a time but everyday brings new words of encouragement from Chabad. Thank you. Reply

Fearless Thank you for these words, they have reassured me that there is nothing to fear but just the fear of loosing the pain of the past loss. Today on Tisha B'Av after-noon I meditate on the revelation Hashem, blessed be He, has given me. After reading this morning Deut. 4:25-40, and Jeremiah 8:13-9:23, I have come to the realization of the suffering for the past centuries. Hashem, blessed be He, in His Infinite compassion, and also His pain, speaks to us from the words of the Prophet. Especially on the last verse of 9:23: But only in this should one glory: In his earnest devotion to Me, For I the L-rd act with kindness, Justice, and equity in the world; For in these I delight - declares de L-rd. Our lost generation sinned against Him. We paid the price. And will continue to suffer unless we change our ways. He is a Just G-d. Unlike us, humans, He is willing to forgive us if we repent with a sincere heart, and seek Him. Then LIFE will return to us. Pain of loss will only be a memory. B''H Reply

Jewish pain in exile If there is such pain and fear among Jews in the US, maybe it's G-d or their souls telling them to come home. All Jews need to move back home to Israel soon. It would be better for the whole klal. The air IS different in Israel. I would not go back to the US. Come home Jews. Reply

To ACTUALLY Bs"D Certain depressions require antidepressive medications. Not all depressions can be lumped into one basket as helping people to avoid fear and pain. A competent psychologist or psychiatrist can tell the difference. It is critical to know the difference, so that people who need the antidepressive medication will not go without it. Reply

pain of exile this all seems like a rationalization to me. I have been feeling distant to G-d for a while now and for a baal shuva, that's weird, but I think G-d is acting and has acted like an abusive father. There are too many good people who are struggling and too much evil happenings in the world (past and present) for me to think G-d is so good anymore.
I try, but lately, it's not working for me on a lot of levels. I'd love you to comment on that. Thanks. Reply

Fearless Only because I start receiving and reading your web site that I know today is the first of Av. Honestly, do not know even the date not talking about the history. Or we read the Scripture but nobody in my company talks about the death of Aaron. This must be a condition you refer to as "not feel the pain", so numb, so ignorant, so indifferent...
