The verse describing the passing of our Matriarch Sarah ends with the words, “And the years of Sarah were 127 years, all the years of Sarah’s life.”

Rashi comments that “all the years of Sarah’s life” alludes to the fact that all her years were equally good. Her life had many events and accomplishments. In what way were they equal?

The “life” of Sarah had a focal point. Whether she was seven, twenty or one hundred. Whether she was traveling with her husband to the land of Canaan or being praised by the King of Egypt for her beauty, only one thing mattered. Her life was her Judaism and her commitment to the mitzvahs of a Jewish woman.
