The world in which we humans live isn't perfect, and science help humans to improve. Medicine is definitely a Torah mission inspired by H'/ Discoveries can be used for good and, sadly, bad purposes but that is because H' gave us free will. The Torah is a framework for us to limit bad behavior regarding human endeavors. The Torah is the light that helps us forward. Reply
i think most of what humans do is think what they believe are G-d's thoughts, robustly naming it 'science', shuttering his window & slamming doors to a greater knowledge/experience of HIM.
When i look at sacred geometry i see polymorphic forms.
It's a good meditation; it calms my mind.
What would the possibilities look like if we saw his table of elements, where we were invited, specks though we are, to partake of that cup?
holler & toller and tell me, Lord.

thinking versus action I think these 2 sentences need to be explained by the writer. Because they are one thought and the same meaning. Why are these 2 ideas placed to appear to have deep evaluative thought behind them? To me Science is the study of the natural laws of creation. G-d does not ponder about Science, humans can see creation. The Torah would be the study of moral aspects of behavior for humans. Behavior is also an active word. Once more, thinking leads to actions. G-d doesnt seem to only think all the time, pondering about the possibilities of humans but actively creates a human whose behavior can be evaluated and guided by moral teachings. Reply
Think Outside Your Self Studying the internality of the Torah changes us inside. It develops our soul senses to perceive beyond the science of this world to perceive outside of your limited world. Reply
Can science be the study of god? Good thing our medical practice advances from 5,000 years ago, but our weather men and women still get it wrong. Reply
Thinking His Thoughts It can only be activated within us, when we are Sanctified Holy and inviting his Divine Presence in to our lives; and keep right in the face of G-d. Reply

G-d is continually trying to imprint his thoughts in our world.
Thusly, the mystery is ours.
HE is uncreated
& his mode of Creation involves the alphabet of Creation (as in the Aleph Bet);
G-dliness is ... a field energy of his participation, his modus operandi, his "thought"
But, HE is unlimited in his scope & domain
HE is one-ness & plurality;
Mystery and Ultimate Truth (Emmuna)
:) so when we participate in 'G-dliness': prayer, study, mitzvah, etc. we co-share in an energy field that He created for us:
may we go forward with Grace in our hearts and minds in the (re) making of this "Thought": ... word, deed, action :

Think His Thoughts If I refer to G-d as ayn sof as I prefer to do, then how could I dispute these thoughts? Reply
answer regarding, "What are we to Torah?", We are the listeners and readers of his thoughts. Reply
I Like That!
So simple, yet so profound...and so very true!

Science vs. Torah? I look to the Torah as the final authority. Mankind is flawed in his present state. If we were to understand what the Torah says from Hashem's perspective instead of our seemingly intellectual state of mind, or our doctrines of our own making, it would hopefully humble us so much that all we could do would beg for His mercy. No wonder in Psalms it says He laughs at us. Mankind as a whole is to arrogant to admit it is wrong in His eyes. Reply
by thoughts You make an effort to raise Torah above Science by leaving out the phrase "by one of his thoughts". That line should be in both statements or neither. Can Torah not stand above without your word trickery? Reply
The Trouble With Thinking! One of mankind's biggest problems is that it has forgotten to think about what Hashem thinks first. This makes a good case why, when in doubt, look to the Torah about His position before implementing our position. The world might be a different place! Shalom! Reply
What are we to Torah? If Torah is the study of G-d thinking? Than what are we to Torah? Reply
the guy who posted the anthropmophism comment relax man, you don't have to pick it apart with a technical analysis. Rabbi Freeman keep up the good Torah work. This is an awesome sentence to ponder. Reply
Anthropomorphism?
Dear Rabbi,
Please excuse my ignorance and give some references to the source of the statements.
“My thoughts are not your thoughts…” tells of Hashem’s “uniqueness, a quality that makes it impossible to “know” Him. The Creator does not “think”, as we understand it. The Thinker (source), His instruments (thoughts), results (conclusions and physical creations) are/is one entity.
As I understand:
- science is the study of the creation, not the Creator.
- purpose of Torah study – compliance with Hashem’s will through understading of the requirements.
Why it is necessary to use such an anthropomorphic language?

It’s all important to hold in mind that all there is, is the ONE. There is no other existence, and we are part of it. G-d helps each and every creature to develop. That is why it is said, that Torah is G-d thinking.
