Firstly, I'm not entirely sure if "taev" is spelled with a kamatz or a patach. Someone probably knows. xD

Secondly, apparently the phrase is "taev shir" not "shir taev". The implications are interesting.

Tau. This seem like (don't trust me!) the answer. "Shir Taev".

The tau (LAST in בראשית!) comes first -- that it's all here. The instruments, the "sefer".
It (and each instrument) hides its action, "kamatz", for the aleph. Ready to hear its lesson. How to play.

This is the great light the Rebbe was talking about, per Rabbi Raskin's article on "kamatz", "concealment", an acronym for
"אור קדמון אור מצוחצח אור צח".

This is what Rebbe Nachman means: "ve-ikar hateshuva -- k'sheyishma bizyono, yidom veyishtok".

The instruments (which are the players, which are part of the song) realize they don't know how to play the song they're built for yet, and they become determined to learn.

Then silence brings the aleph -- G-d, the "menatzeach". He teaches the song to play itself. It's all here, now how to teach it to use itself? This is "s'par". When the purpose of the "menatzeach" is clear, we have geula.

As for the rest...We'll see soon enough. ;)

re: 'having a choice" thank you Rabbi Freeman for your explanation about free will. there have been many discussions at our shul about that. my question is: let's say G-d knows what will be and what our actions will be - why would that change the fact that we do have free will? thank you, valerie Reply

suggestion to Katrin People have been putting the red light in front of me and actions- actions that I can't describe- get so easily misunderstood so I begin wondering and then think they are architects of change, those who make like they sort of control others.
On a different note, I met up with good people who liberated me from my fear by their presence. I "decide on my own.. " this is what R. Tzvi Freeman writes. Let me quote something:
"Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same..."
Words of Marianne Williamson. I feel our presence "automatically liberates others" (Nelson used this expression) now, being partners with G-d in creation we are liberated from our fear. Praying that like it was today in my life, G-d brings people whose lives are great examples, into our lives. Reply

(i.e. some friends 'tell' me that the reason we (jewish people) don't eat pork is because of poor refrigeration back then. i keep telling them, no, that's not it! 'well, then why?' because G-d told us not to eat certain foods. 'why not?' i don't know, because G-d said so!!!!) that's good enough for me! Reply

Why assume everything has a human answer? Maybe things are the way they are for reasons beyond our understanding? In fact maybe the reasons aren't even that kind (in our - human, finite - understanding? What is wrong with not knowing why we don't know "why?" Reply

make up your own mind i LOVE this! maybe i'm not a deep thinker; maybe it's simply that i trust my early education, my parents' example, and my relationship with G-d very deeply. so...i just HAVE to trust that as long as i am aware, and continue to pay close attention to all the 'messages' G-d sends - and follow them - that i'll do a little of what G-d wants and give me peace along the way, too! @ a small question As Rabbi Tzvi said: "become G-d's partner in creation".
A partner is someone who takes an active role. In this case an active role would be learning how to understand what G-d wants from him, to learn how G-d communicates with each one of us every day through His mode of communication which is the world.
The world is His expression, so to speak, and each one of us is a part of it.
So in order to become a partner in creation we must actively learn to understand G-d's communicating with us and act accordingly.

Gratitude for The Rebbe Let us give thanks that we have a genuine master. Let us be grateful for him and the grace of G-d that is a part of G-ds plan for us through these great teachings.
We should celebrate daily and NEVER TAKE HIM FOR GRANTED. May we strive hard to not get to comfortable, but work hard and follow, and try and live like he did. He is the model. Shalom. Reply

a small question when a teacher gives you an assignment to do in class, when, how, for how long etc. and you accomplish it, you feel accomplished, becuase bottom line is, you did accomplish it? im not quite sure i understand completely? Reply
