The Tax of the Righteous I like this Daily Dose, especially because it hints that both the evil and the wicked person have a spark of goodness within. I recall reading that in the age of Moshiach, “Those who are wicked won’t want to live.” However, I like this wisdom better because it recognizes that there exists some goodness within everything, such that especially Moshiach and the tzadiks are to be taxed with the duty of redeeming lost souls. For them, the army of the righteous, this is why they were created, to go from strength to strength in the joy of healing all creation, such that those who were at some time deemed evil or wicked will become righteous, according to the glory of Hashem. Tzaddik
Forgive me if I'm wrong or missed the point, but I thought that none of us were Tzaddik's. Even the one of our Greatest Rabbi's would tell you that He is no Taddik. Does not the Tanys teach us this? I have done Chevra Kidisha for eight years now. I give people rides to the Dr.'s appt and to various grocery stores. I started a Friday Night Service where I live and after a year and half it's going Great ! But I would never consider myself with such a high degree.
Don't think Moses worried about being a Tzaddik, to him it was about Humbleness, For when he lost his temper Eziekel had to explain the laws because he lost his temper, and we know when we looose our temper we loose our wisdom! So if you want of fight with yourself about being a Tzaddik go right a head. I perfer staying humble, keeps more grounded,
PS how about gettting spell check going fella's , some of us need a little help too.

Michiel, You're right about the being humble, G_D says in Isaiah 61:1 "To this one I will look, one who is humble and contrite."
G-d uses everyone, bad and good, to implement His plan.
What is meant for evil He can use for good. When I mess up, and that's inevitable, right then I stop and pray that it will be used for good, that brings me back into focus. I think maybe it's akin to asking forgiveness. Anyway it works for me.

The Tzaddik
So, in other words, when he goes against the Tzaddik, he's really going against that part in himself who is a Tzaddik. And, not even talking about going against, but when he simply doesn't value the Tzaddik, he's not valuing that part of himself.
When he values a "regular" person, he's valuing that part in himself, and when not valuing that person, he's not seeing the good parts in himself.

Yosef HaTzaddik
Yosef is the only one in the Torah was called HaTzaddik. Yet we find that Yosef made mistakes, and struggled, yet overcame his inclination, but is not that he had _NO_ such impulses.
By the way this is a phenomenal pearl of wisdom by written by Tzvi Freeman... If we look at people, and look for the Tzaddik within them... we can _PULL_ the Tzaddik to the surface.

most pretentious & pious Tzaddik ;also fallible. "Tzaddik, The: A wholly righteous person. In the context of Chabad literature, one who has conquered his animal impulses and is filled entirely with love and reverence for G-d." One is either righteous or not, not sometimes without sin. Reply

When I look at it this way,
then even I am a Tzaddik.
Most of the time.

Is a female a Tzaddik?
Not all of them.
Thanks for explaining that When I was reading about them I just assumed they were men. Will the coming Messiah be a Tzaddik or something more?
He will be a tzadik, like Moses, Abraham, etc.
Of course, there are levels of tzadikim. You can search the term “tzadik” on our site and learn much more.
