Each thing sings and each is silent.
Each thing sings, pulsating with the life G‑d gives it.
And each is silent, and the silence says,
“I am just a thing that is. I simply am.”
The silence is also G‑d.
For He is the only one that can truly say, “I just am.”

G d is everything, and G d is especially silence. When you can sit in your chair at home and not need the radio dancing off of the stand or the television blaring so loud that you can’t hear yourself think, or even any other noise making machine bouncing off of the walls or just even turned on then you respect the dead sound of silence. Silence is golden, so it’s been said, but to me silence is G d. It’s actually G d saying, ‘I am!’ Many people can’t open the door to their car without reaching for the radio knob or the CD.
We live in such a noisy society that we can’t bear to listen to our own hearts beat. If we could just practice everyday at least 15 minutes of solitude, our lives would become so much more enlightened with the voice of
‘I am.’
