The Freedom Equation A 'good deed' equation comprises 2 parameters:
action + intention = good deed

The Kabbalists referred to the intention as 'kavanah', the most important aspect of the equation.
Our egoistic nature is programmed to follow the unconscious calculation: what's in it for me?
This intention will not pass the merit of a 'good deed'.

Only the force of Moses within us, which pulls out from our self-interest will enable the 'good deed' to ascend through the gates of the sefirot attributes to be accepted as a holy deed at the King's palace.
This special force, that aims our deed to benefit outside my self, releases us from the chains to our self-concern and allows us to connect to G_dliness. Reply

That was then That was then, Freedom with our G-d how we choose to live by his commandments has been taken away from us from the corruptions in our society. Our society is so corrupted today & Our spirituality is being corrupted by those whom don't have any. All I see is greed in our society today. Freedom has been violated as freedom of speech has been since and after the 9/11 events of the (world trade center terrorists attacks).
We don't change of how we perceive our G-d, it is society that changes of how it perceives the reflection of changes in our society today. Our freedom will still be here with one G-d, However, Invasion of privacy of our freedom will be with us until there is order and peace in our world with one G-d & One religion.

There Is An Old Saying Freedom comes from GOD, rejoice in the freedom HE gives us. You can taken the people out of Egypt but can you ever take Egypt out of the people. If we can not find freedom in G-D and HIS land then you will never find freedom from anything at all.
G-D is a spirit and those who worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth. HE in the form of what resembles a spiritual like too in some way like humans. When you worship and praise HIM the you have found the freedom you see for the more you worship and praise HIM the more HE strengthens you in your daily existence. Even the land of Israel rests on it's Sabbaths. It was make and designed to do so by the LORD. Reply

Re: Freedom Any act of G-d is, by definition, initiated by G-d. Freedom comes in understanding, obeying that act (G-d's will, the continuing unfolding of the revelation of Sinai).

Without mitzvoh, we lose sight of G-d and consequently, of ourselves. We can no longer differentiate between the profane and the holy, between food sacrificed to idols, and that which G-d has sanctified. Reply

Freedom "Freedom can only come by connecting to something infinite" - what does this mean?

It suggests that when we do Mitzot we are free; when we do not we are enslaved. We are freed to become slaves to Mitzvot. The only freedom given is to choose to do or not to do them.

Freeman says that "following our whims" is not freedom. Are all whims from our lesser selves? What of creativity? Is the impulse to create only animal, or from the Infinite?

Did revelation cease at Sinai, or with the Prophets, or with the Rebbe? Does G-d provide revelation every single day if only we would see and hear?

Following Freeman's reasoning, Jews cannot be free unless they are doing the Will of G-d. How is obedience freedom? It is servitude, not freedom. Reply

Getting real So by doing the mitzvot graciously given at Mount Sinai, we connect with G-d, who is the only reality, who is beyond all flesh and beyond physicality and beyond our universe, and so we attain a level of reality ourselves through this connection. Reply
