We grow because we remember; we grow because we forget. We forget “I am this.” We remember that we were never really that at all.

It is the power to be all things, to not to be ruled by any of them, because in essence we are none of them.

We grow when we remember we are not who we were yesterday, and tomorrow we will not be who we were today.

MEMORY Every year I anticipate pondering the Parashat Miketz, experiencing my own a-ha moment pertaining to Joseph. I waited for some insightful ideation of what Joseph expeienced. It had to be a peace that surpassed all understanding,and a strength deep within that develops from trust in G-d. In trusting G-d, Joseph went from victim to victor.

In my life I have learned that nothing happens by coincidence, that situations I encounter in life are not always about me, I could be bitter, but I will be better. I have experienced gain and loss, yet whatever state I have find myself in, I will be grateful, trusting G-d for the outcome, recognizing Him as the Author and Finisher of my Fate. I guess you can say I'm growing, I am not who I was yesterday, and tomorrow I will not be who I am today! As it turns out Parashat Miketz (Joseph) has a very positive influence in my life (growth). A-ha.... Reply

Moving on To keep moving is what we are taught to do. The pages of the Torah keep moving and changing our lives. If we are to not move we become like water in a vase. Not good, we must always be moving like living waters. In doing so, we bring life to others. Reply

Memory So true I am not the same person that I was,over 5 years ago.Before I came to Israel started studying with Chabad,reading the Tanakh.Learning that these are more then Bible stories.
Also learning that when Hashem gives you a responsibility you,must fulfill it.That this is serious mine that he gave me is to pray foe all which I do every morning,night no matter how I feel.Even if I am not up to it because I know that Hashem expects,of me and he will help me. Reply
