Who found Who? Did G-D find Abraham or did Abraham find G-D? Did G-D choose Abraham because of his inner convictions,or did Abraham discover the existence of G-D before he was chosen? Maybe they both found each other. Reply

RE: "We were not chosen by G-d" I would like to add that, all nations were given the opportunity to be chosen, and all rejected the opportunity. From my understanding, the Jewish nation were last in line and pretty much had to say yes. I think this adds to story of the 3.500-year-old struggle. Also, Abram was the only man during his time who realized that G-d was ONE and that idols were powerless, therefore G-d reached out to him rather than anyone else.

I will add that I am a Noahide--not Jewish, and I may very well be incorrect. Reply

This sent a powerful message to Jews:that there is a driving force that guides us in our lives; that the world can be complicated but there is direction for us! I felt so proud to be a Jew after watching this video. I know your organization took great care to put this together. Reply

Re: "we were not chosen by G-d" Hashem did not choose a race per se, at a particular point in history. He chose Avraham and formed a covenant with him and his descendents. He called him out of Ur of Chaldea and showed him the land of promise. Avraham and his descendents, Yitzhak and Yaakov (subsequently renamed Yisrael, by Hashem) are our Patriachs, and we received Torah from Har Sinai when Moshe was leading us to Israel.
So, it could be more accurately put, that Hashem chose one man in history, formed a Covenant with him which extended to his descendents, and through whom all the world will be blessed. Reply

We are the chosen people. If I understand this correctly: we were not chosen by G-d og G-d did not find us, but we found G-d and chose to follow him.

Why do we pray so as following?:

In brechot hatorah:
Baruch atá......asher bachar banu mikol haamim venatan lanu et torato. Reply

We are the chosen people Why were we chosen by G-d?
This is the question I have been asking me for a long time.
At the end of the first third of the video there is an answer to this question: It says that we were not chosen by G-d, but we were the ones who chose and accepted the Torah.
Do I understand this correctly? Reply

Infinite wisdom This documentary was wonderful. I gave great insight to how the torah is taught and was developed. It also gave me a better understanding as a jewish woman how to raise my daughter with proper jewish morals and values. Reply
