We cannot see God's essence, his panim (face), so God showed moshe the back of the tefillin. In short Reply
The tefillin has a knot that goes at the base of the skull. Reply
moshe was a brillant torah scholar and kaballist.he knew that he and the people were essentially the same.destroy them is in essence destroying moshe. we all come from the same source and upon our death return to the same source, we are all one person from god via the master soul adam. do harm to another you areactually doing harm t yourself. help someone else you are actually helping yourself. get rid of your ego.hashem only . Goshen & Israel Baruch Hashem and thank you for your teaching. Why is the word Goshen written so many times in 46:28-29? Is there a special meaning when the name "Israel" is used instead of Jacob and "Jacob" used instead of Israel? Va-Yehi verses 28 thru 31. First its Jacob then Israel Reply
Part II of my questions from Brooklyn, NY Please may I have sources which I can flesh out with further study; however, the sources, for my sake, need to be extant in English translations. Thank you, Reply
Posting a comment and Esav's head Had to switch to the old Chabad version, in order to post a comment. Where is it on the newer version? In an earlier shiur, you said that Esav was a Jew. His head, luz bone, is in the Cave of Machpela. What about Techias ha Maisim, and the significance of head, the resting place of his head, and the Tanya perspective? Reply
Definition Both words are derived from the same source. Kadosh. Meaning set aside, designated. Something might be designated for "holiness (like Chevra Kadisha - the Holy Society in charge of burial) or something can be set apart for harlotry. The words harlot Kedesha) and the word for marriage (Kidushin) are of the same root. Reply
Overall reaction to your work Your chumash lectures are very much worth listening to since you have such a genuine and innocent sense of humor. Thank you. Reply
Definition of a word You mentioned Kah-day-shah, as woman who is a harlot. How does this word differ from the word used to describe Chevra Kadesha, the burial society? Are these words related or totally different? Please clarifty. Reply

Portion behind the portion... Shalom Rabbi,Thank-you for sharing your sense of humor thoughout your lesson. Trust me, I'm not offended by your jokes, however, as the great comedians say, "there seems to be a pattern here". As a loving devoted widow, of my late beloved husband Leonard and favorite comedian might have said, "You gotta' pick your audience". Although the majority of your jokes were biased against "the wife", hmmm ? Looking forward to the Rebbitsen's website. Reply
