To worry is to worship the world, to fall on your knees in dread and grovel before it.
To trust is to lift up your eyes and stand as tall as the heavens. To live with nothing else but the bond between G‑d above and you below.

This is really comforting. I worry sometimes about the future. If I'll be able to do certain things. This is a good reminder to trust that everything is falling into place and if I work hard then just trust that everything will be okay. Reply
Worry is to worship the world. Due to the fact that I still have my unconscious social need to be accepted, I am in the worry category. But I balance my worry/fear with trust. When i recognize the earthly desire is going on in me, i lift up my eyes to the heavens and ride there. I am finding it takes time and conscious awareness observing myself to accomplish this transformation inside myself. I forget to pay attention because it is tiring when i want to just live. So it makes a longer time to accomplish.

Worry
I had to smile when I read this ... as a young woman I worried about stuff and used to tell people that I was happiest when I was worried.
Ironically, the really big things that would or should have been worries, never bothered me because I did trust Hashem ... those were the things that occurred. (Example: my younger daughter, a 5 year vet with OKCPD, was killed 1-5-95; who expects a 26 year old to die? In spite of the fact she was in a hazardous occupation, I never worried about it. My older daughter's death on 4-30-01 blind-sided me! After all, how many 33 year olds get sick and die?)
HaShem's chesed has seen me through this and has blessed me with different joys, including very little interest in the material stuff. The most important things in my life today are focused on the spiritual and mitzvot; it is a better place to live. Hashem has also provided me many opportunities to share experience and hope B"H.
Perhaps we do gain a little wisdom in age.

Trust The Zen folks say, "jump and the net will appear..." This kind of trust is the "goal." It requires years of experience and letting go; the wisdom that nothing can really be done yet evertyhing must be at the same time - a true balance on the razors edge. Until, maybe, whatever "I" am simply lets go and disappears into everything that just is, and I then act in complete accord with G-D's will. Wow, isn't that the definition of a Tzaddic? A lot to ask, yet, what else is there, really? Being in between takes courage and compassion and faith. Reply

To be quite candid...
The notion that there is an “is” which is the entity into which u trust to fall and be caught (analogous to the net which u mentioned earlier) is to presume that the faller (I) has henceforth checked the boundaries of the realities he lives in. To come with this prerequisite that to acquire the most-desired, rarely-attained level of the above mentioned “tzaddic” is dependent on that which the mr. anonymous from Redwood City states before...

I love this saying. Through Judaism I learned not to lower my head even when a king stands before me.
We all have human rights. I don't have less rights by comparison to a rich person only because he is rich.
Jews have always been a good example for having intellectual persons who objected against the instituted thoughts of oppressors.
Presently we see that the human rights gradually disappears and that money declares your human level in the society.
When does it change?

As someone who suffers from severe anxiety (sometimes), things get complicated as you may imagine. I am doing my best to TRUST, and believe that a. G-d will help me even through the most difficult times, and b. that there is some reason that this terrible thing has come in to my life.

Worry I cannot tell you how many Jewish organizations expressed worry that they would not raise enough money to continue. I hope the one i ended up pledging to did alright. I couldn't help the others. With two children still in school, i have to entrust my money to them. And still worry when they express the stress that they are under. Try to tell them not to worry so that i won't worry, it just does not work that way. However, if we are confining worry to Hashem and me, no worries, complete exemption. Reply

THE TWO OF US never, ever thought of worrying as self-humiliation or worshipping the world - groveling....and more than that -- that trust is dignity. to live with the bond between G-d and me is HUGE! it's fantastic, and i hope to continue to remember this dose of wisdom! Reply

concept of worry
I worry. I worry when my children go to parties and drive cars. I am happy for them. But I worry. i worry that my livlihood will continue to amply support family. I am a punctual person. If i am running late i worry about the person i may be keeping waiting. On the other hand, if someone else is running late, i consider it normal and will hang tough for 30 minutes with no problem.These are only a few examples amongst many. Regarding your words of Inspiration in my world, the constant is that G-d will only help those who help themselves. Being aware of where you are is not always a cakewalk. Worry is an alert system, and when done only when necessary, is healthy.
This opinion is tendered with all due respect, as was my comment regarding G-d who surrounds us. G-d is omnipresent, and always in a state of Heaveness.
