Miraculous Failure

The word miracle is misunderstood. it is not like the Egyptians copying what Moshe Rabbeinu did ! It is rather the everyday living that is in itself a wonder; the Mode Ani we say is recognizing our gratefulness. It seems a natural to wake up. the order of things, but if we should think twice : it is miracle! Every aspect of our our lives is imbued with the same sense of naturalness versus a miracle, and we then tend to forget that both concepts are intertwined. Why? I would like to respond that H' desired we live our lives in a most natural way, yet, not taking the peace and calm for granted. That is why we have every step of the way reminders via brachot, and Tfilot hinting that the source of all this goodness comes from H'. Living the miracles, as if they were just natural is embedded in the notion of creation. H's presence is quiet, gentle, almost unnoticeable as if we don't want to recognize that life itself IS a granted miracle for which we must be grateful. Reply

Signs and wonders, and miracles small and great, seen and unseen summon us to see the intervention of the Power of the Kingdom of GD and His Sovereignty, experience His realm supernaturally or naturally on earth through the conduit of man's intervention, or GD's Divine Act(s). This is Torah! We believe not because we "see," but because we "trust" HaShem in the situation and His "astounding" outcome(s). GD is our resource, and we joyfully give Him thanksgiving.

The greatest miracles break no rules and change everything Rabbi Tzvi Freeman Meditations on Miracles My first thought is about your bringing home the notion of slumber. Yet, how do we wake up?!...living consciously - G-d conscious-ly, from our (spiritual sleep?) In a video of the Rebbe, in
"The Living Torah," from the mid-nineteen eightees the Rebbe suggested a minute of silence at the beginning of each school day. (Which seems to sound like hisbonenus before praying).

People in the Ministry of education in Israel, when approached privately, thought it was pure genius. And a grass roots movement in the U.S. for that minute to become law has been met with sub-staintial support and has become ratified as law in many states.

A question asked is how to wake up. And is that minute part of our day. Of course the Rebbe addressed the need for all public schools to institute such a daily minute of silence. But maybe it was really for anyone who might miss the message and are experiencing that drifting away of our youth but are not so aware of it. A wild horse in a fedora? Maybe not. Reply

Accepting the Infinite We colour our world by how gracefully we receive a miracle. He performs a miracle and we colour it with our egoistic consciousness.
lt takes alot of humility to accept his grace and allow ourselves to be the sculpted material of his will ... to receive gracefully new responsibilities in our lives when it may not be physically easy and we don't immediately know how to sustain this new level of Glory, It seems like the Rabbi is talking about two different types of miracle, or could G-d have two different intentions? Miraculous Intention G-d created us with the desire to receive pleasure.
We use this quality egoistically - to receive in order for self-gratification.

You cannot change this desire to receive.
But you can change the whole outcome if you direct your reception towards the good of others.

The whole world would change by this miraculous intention to rise above our self! By free-will we can enter His world. Reply

Miracles are hard to see to believe Miracles are hard to see to believe and especially when someone says this is to test my faith. Why test my faith? Why tempt me? I pray to be free from contempt so hear this prayer Israel. Reply

Re; Steve Parker, Marietta, GA wow, that was truly incredible, well written, well thought out, and spoken with a great deal of eloquence, but in simpleton terms, he (loosely) is atop everything, it is a lonely place where he sits, he is awareness amongst much, he is a spirit who creates his own companionship with words and give those he creates ‘free will’ nothing he creates is slave to him, sophia, zoey, and so many more that he created to keep him from ‘loneliness’ but is that enough?
so why are we so important that he seeks (us) as individuals to find our way to him? We are the created (and made) we have a purpose it is to bring him joy and delight by behaving with a pleasing nature, though many of us thru-time have deeply grieved him with our chosen stubborn ways that we push upon others as if we are Right, we are insignificant when we look at each other, but we are very important when he looks at us, our end here is a beginning for those who have pleasing natures and do for others as he does for us, Reply

At a Kabala class at my shul yesterday morning, I came up with my own version of a spiritual "Big Bang" theory. It goes something like this: G-d coexisted with truth and, though one, "each" required the other to create the universe. It is this melding (One can be two since the One is infinite and all in infinitely possible) that is the source of life, or at least life as it is revealed to us. So we live this life on this sphere in space and we imagine the unimaginable, which is G-d, who Himself is beyond that which is unimaginable. Much the same with truth: the father of truth is the "essence" of truth, whose father is beyond "essential" and so on, until it reaches the absolute source of all that is true. Within this complexity, at the very point beyond the absolute essence of truth, G-d is found. Liberating stuff indeed. Reply

miracles are a comfort to those who experience them, they are less of a miracle and more of a hug given by the one who heard and answered, Reply

But are not the "norms" of this lower world to be avoided? even shunned? I could use an open miracle right now and it would be even more pleasing if it shook the "norms" right to the core ! Sorry to be so vocal but there are times that Orthodox philosophy is a little Vulcan like.....:) Reply
