Today, though the human soul sleeps a deep slumber of materialism, the material world itself is prepared.

Would you, please elaborate on the last phrase?

We tend to plan our life, what we need to do etc. But that tendency often scrambles things for the worse. Since we don’t know all the elements of our ‘situation’, other people’s plans vs our plans can cause a lot of chaos. Reading instructions can make things worse as they were other peoples’ insights and/or beliefs and may not be helpful to us. Looking at the big picture the world seems to have gone crazy.
Many prayers go up, “please give me what I want”, and so on. Prayer is more often a “demand”, or a “command” for results, a child’s cry...whaaa… What is very difficult for us to do is...shut up the mind. Do not try to influence G-d at all. Do that completely, shut up about what you want, thoroughly until you are able to receive from the One, what you need. Not doing this is why when things get worse, scramble everything, we are stopped in our tracks. Let go, and Let God. Period.

I often think about the Israelite's who had to wander in the desert for 40 years, then I thought of myself, and one day I finally realized that if I kept doing the same thing, over and over again, I was going to get the same result. I finally understood that G-d expected me to evolve.It was likened to a rebirth. I remember daily that I have been delivered out of darkness. Daily I serve G-d in perfect love and perfect trust. I love this adage! It's going to be my new buzzword, . . ."Moshiach is Coming!"
I read someone prayed this prayer, "we come into this world with nothing, we fought about everything, we emerged with nothing, and when we leave this world, we have to give an account about everything! Lrd forgive us. Have mercy on us O righteous merciful compassionate GD."
Nature knows that the Moshiach is soon to come except the intelligent beings who are gifted with 5 senses, and GD's Words!! Isn't that ironic?

Awesome reminder! It was 14 years ago, that I decided to study Judaism. I am still just as excited today in studying as I was then. I found myself in the Torah, actually an entire family history, that I knew nothing of, maternal and paternal. I woke from my slumber, and I will never be the same again. My heartfelt gratitude and love to my late cousin Rabbi Yisroel Francis, who paved the way, I was actually following him. I never met The REBBE , yet my spiritual connection to him is very real, to this day. He's speaking volumes today! We are Spirit and We are Life! Reply

Yes, Shelli, we have reached a peak in materialism again - it is Nimrod Revisited!
Like the ancient Babylonians we have built a Tower again. Abraham, discovered the method to teach a group of followers how to correct their ego.
Today that wisdom is revealed for us once more in the kabbalistic texts which describe how we correct our inner Self. This requires a shift from the external meaning of the Torah to the inner meaning described in the kabballistic writings.
One needs an authentic teacher, - one who has attained some degree of spirituality at a level above this material world.
Otherise, when that 'ego tower' collapses, it will be disasterous and harder to recover.

Do we live on a physical, emotional and spiritual existence?
Is a miracle G-d's intervention to promote a change in the natural order of things, on a physical plain yet invisibly involving the spiritual and emotional states of each human being?
What is a miracle on an emotional level? A first born son emotional issues with his father?
The first born son's emotional state with the pharoah's decree in the Nile river?
Healing the emotions between father and son in the material world is one aspect of life to create a miracle from..

A Rude Awakening
Its happens again, and again the "conceit and arrogance" of a world society who decide that they alone will rule the world and become like the Most High. A society that has conspired to build a tower of dictatorship, and wealth. Nimrod, had the same idea. Will the spirit of Nimrod, succeed this time? How can it ever be, G-d claims Earth and everything in it, G-d claims World and all who live on it. I see a rude awakening!
May it come in our time. May it come today! We want Moshiach now.

Deep slumber of materialism.. You think things are really different today!
You see even then they did not want to face reality, they wanted to escape from their responsibilities. What do you call idol worship? It is materialism pure and simple, an invisible GOD was not enough, they wanted a physical/material manifestation of GOD in the temple and in their homes (thanks to JLI for pointing this out). They were just as material as we are today.
The Moshiah has become the idol of the day a,foolish king who no longer knew how to take advice . The new king as some would let us to believe. Don't fool yourself, the Moshiah would have not brought radical changes in the order of things. Are you forgetting the miracles, you can't get more radical than that. They were ready but did not want the Moshiah. And do you actually think we are any different that our forefathers? What foolishness.
Simply said; Fear/Awe God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole and only duty of man.

If my soul really were asleep I would be incapable of answering thi somewhat inaccurate claim.
Thanks to so many of these postings about ourselves within the frame of being Jewish and finding out the mitzvahs that we can and should be performing, the reminders from my soul-messager is not allowing this apparent slumber to occur, in what you find is a less spiritual age. It is simply incorrect to make this provocative claim.
