Why is this Greek word Syn-Together, Ago-Gather, Gy-Place, so place-to-gather-together such an adopted Jewish concept? Is it emic, from the Jewish people as a self-definer, or etic, applied by outsiders? Some Jewish communities use the terms 'Temple' or 'Tabernacle'; are there theological reasons for this?

I love the term Beit Knesset - for the focus of the gathering of God's people. We are strong when we are united together. Reply
