Rabbi,
Your lessons are wonderful, but I would like to see a part 2 for this segment, or an update of some kind. The most interesting portion of the Lecha is the event of Avram's blessing, which is what I consider the beginning of his path to tikun to achieve the higher spiritual purification to progress from the blessed father to the blessed father of nations (Avram to Avraham). Melchizedek was potentially the spiritual reincarnation of Noah through Shem. He was a priest, but his name means "king of righteousness." David was a priest in the order of Melchizedek because he was a king of righteousness. Avraham's descendants would become Melchizedeks, kings of righteousness, and the proof of G-d's plan for it appears in the Lecha. Reply

The Hay in Avraham I always suspected Avraham was a sort of euphemism for father of the people. Av = father, am = people. But I thought somehow it was the resh that played significance. Can you clarify that? Reply
