What is an alef?
A point above, a point below, and a line between.
Whatever we may understand of Him
is but an infinitesimal point above.
The only way we can join with Him
is as an infinitesmal point below.
And what empowers us to become this zero-point below
that resonates with the infinite-point above?
Our awe of Him,
a line that connects below to above.
Could it be the mediator(yakech) mentioned by Iyov(Job) in 9:33? He longed for someone to arbitrate between God and him. Can we also be peace maker by reconciling two conflicting parties?

Life Line Connecting us to Aleph
'Aleph' is all Love - it is G_d.
We have a spark of that Love.
Aspiring to be all Love is our life-line to connect with Him - we will be pulled out of our self to His place to unite with all the other sparks in awe of His Godliness.

What is Alef?
Dear Rabbi Freeman,
I "get" the aleph expression: as above so below.
Could you please explain the "line"? I really do want to connect to G-d but don't know what to do. Do I pray? Do I meditate? Do I go to church or synagogue?
How do I express an "Awe of HIM" when I am a woman? Is there an "Awe of IT" who is the Creator of all that is?
I thought that G-d was neither male or female.
I REALLY want to experience the Oneness that you are describing, but need a step-by-step process for doing so. What do I do?

This fragment talks about connection between H' and us. It is in the beggining even when the Torah starts with Bet. We should never forget the tie with H'- even when we don't grasp what is happening in this world. Trust that in the end we will succeed and be backed by H.
