What is it that brought thinking men and women to abandon the Master for the servant?
To serve a single star rather than He who sprinkles out galaxies as dust?
To play with spiritual forces and energies rather than connect to the Source of Life?

What brings us even today to follow the commands of our own ephemeral cravings above the wishes of He who alone is real and true?

It is because in the worship of these we can delude ourselves that we too are something great, and all these are made for our glory.

At the very least, we are something that must be reckoned with, whereas in the presence of the Infinite Light, there is no room for any other being to exist.

This is the inheritance we have from Abraham, our father: The readiness to sacrifice our claim to existence so we may stand in the presence of the Infinite.

With that readiness alone, we transcend even the limitations of existence.
