Basel's New Synagogue: Sami Rohr and the Feldinger Chabad House

This video gives the background behind the historic dedication of the first synagogue to open in Basel, Switzerland since 1929. Philanthropist Sami Rohr who funded the project, was able to honor the memory of Shlomo Zalman and Recha Feldinger, who at the height of World War II provided a loving home to the young refugee. The Late Mr. Rohr BEH
Very seldom a vision takes off so quickly. A generation ago there were very few Chabad houses world wide, and all we had were ideas for a great education vision by the late Chabad Rebbe of blessed memory. Nowadays Chabad became a household place for all youngsters world wide where they can learn where they came from so that they know where they are going to. It gave them knowledge and pride in their Jewish heritage, which I don't believe exists naturally anywhere except for in the State of Israel. For this we need to thank the great partnership of the late Mr. Rohr with Chabad. May his descendents continue with his sacred work. They help us carry the torch of Judaism for generations to come.
Every Jewish family should share Mr. Rohr's history with their kids.
