A holocaust against Biafra's Jewish community remains a silent issue for global Jews, as well as the world. Since two years ago, a random encounter on fb with a Biafran Jew turned my blood cold. The Igbo tribe of Biafra traces its roots back to the twelve tribes, Gad, in particular. Upon the Assyrian invasion, he and his sons travelled to Africa (Biafra) to spread the light of Hashem in darkest Africa. Today, its Jewish practitioners continue the ancient Torah teachings (observing chagim, kashrut, Brit, mikvah, etc). Their Jewish identity has prevailed since the first horrific Civil War in the late 60s...Mazi Nmandi Kanu, known as the Modern Day Moses, leads the biggest non-violent protest to secede from the corrupt, Moslem dictatorship of Mohammad Buhari. Rabbi Kanyeveski called for a halachic conversion, but recognized the legitimacy of their ties to Judaism. A Jew named Shlomo Ariel Benyohanan has tried to contact Chabad for this conversion.
