Since the esteemed Rav and Scholar was discoursing on the interplay and possible wellsprings of Chassidic/Mystical Thought in the earlier Rationalist/Hashkafic/Philosophical disciplines, I would add that the concept of Elokus does have a precedent as well in the Kuzari by the Great Sage Rabbi Yehudah HaLevi.
