The Etrog grows on its tree for an entire year.
It grows from the loving summer sunlight
and from the cold winter darkness.
It grows from the furious autumn winds
and from the caresses of spring rain.
From all that comes to it, it grows.
And that is beauty.
Be an Etrog.

Be an Etrog? Yes, be resistant to the happening of the seasons. Endure and grow, and then be part of a Mitzvah. What a nice simile! We humans being usually kvetch when changes happen- instead of waving with the direction of those winds. Yet, we can compare the Etrog to Am Israel, that despite obstacles continues to endure and grow. Yes, grow in the Diaspora, and grow in Eretz israel - despite the ugly winds of Jew- hatred. Like the Etrog never give up. and continue dispensing the special aroma that means being an active Jew that strives to live a bederech life. Chag Sameach to all.
