We did not just come out of Egypt once, but every day at every moment, we are coming out of Egypt. This is because the Hebrew term for Egypt, “Mitzrayim,” also means constraint and limitation.1

Every day, aided by the TorahG‑d’s blueprint for how we should live—we, together with the rest of the world, are meant to break out of our limitations until we will reach the final geulah, the fully embodied experience of freedom, joy, expansiveness and wholeness of ourselves and our world.

All our souls are connected, and metaphorically, we all make up one complete body.2 This means that if at one moment I feel stuck, and I haven’t been able to break out of my limitations, at the same time, you may be breaking through your constraints, and so, as connected souls, I am also able to forge ahead with you. At other times, it might be me who leads the way.
