Day of winding down. For me Shabbat is the most sacred moment prolonged for 25 hours in the week. I am a working woman. I work four days a week. I prepare for the shabbat. And then my day of winding down from the working week starts. Greatest Jewish holiday of the year. Reply

Very moving video. I cried while I was watching it. I remember the songs that we sang on Friday nite. It brings me back to my childhood. I grow up in an modern orthodox house. I look forward to Shabbat. After I light my candles I take a deep breath and say thank you. I would not have it any other way. Thank you Reply

Keeping the Shabbat If you find yourself alone in a hotel room on Shabbat; how do you prepare and what do you eat? Can you use a microwave or coffee maker? Please help; I am new to keeping the Shabbat. Reply

in response to Wanda:

Using a microwave or coffee maker is not permitted on Shabbat. It's best to prepare food that can be eaten cold on Shabbat, or to warm food on Friday afternoon before Shabbat begins. If there is a local Chabad, you can contact them for assistance. See chabadorg/centers. Reply

Shabbos kodesh
Beautiful video.
I haven't cryed in probably a number of years now and I just cried my eyes out watching this.
I grew up very religious but don't believe in Judaism the way it's portrayed today and I'm not a practicing Jew in the most part however anyone who experienced the beauty of shabbos know that it's part of our essence
I'm what they call a shabbos Yid.
I live for shabbos
I breathe shabbos
God bless humanity
God bless the holy shabbos

The Sabbath I love this video. I love watching the peacefulness and serenity. I honestly don't know what I would do without Shabbos. It's so easy to get lost in the busy life of a teenager and all of the things that go on. But on Shabbos I can just sit back and relax and think about the beauty of this world. Reply

To: Keeping Shabbat It's not too expensive...no one said you have to elaborate with it...You mainly just need to have a festive meal, light candles, daven, sing a bit...G-d doesn't care if we use paper plates or if we use gold plates. He only cares that we observe the holiday to the fullest. The people in the video have fancy things but hey, their on camera...wouldn't you want to look good for the camera too...? Reply

Keeping Shabbat This is a very inspirational video but not all people can live this way - even if they wanted to. Isn't it expensive to live this way? Reply

Shabbat Beautiful video. How wonderful it is when we come together to the Shabbat table. Praising Hashem, blessed be He, for all the wonderful things He gives us every moment of our lives!
Thank you for sharing. I wish to have such moments with my family, but it is not so for the moment. Some day.
