The King’s Sleep Is Awoken: The Talmud on the Megillah, Lesson 43
The class on the Purim story focuses on the sudden onset of the king’s insomnia, which activates imaginary nightmares and ends up turning everything totally upside down. Our Sages see this earthly king’s sleep disturbance as symbolic of a Heavenly or spiritually phenomenon that has great significance in the Megillah narrative. This Talmud class is on tractate Megillah page 15b-16a.
