Thank you for the teaching...I'm thinking the error in the children of Rueben & Gad is they 1. Seemingly despised their birthright in the sense they *initially said, No, to going to the Promised Land. They put up a block. And then 2., they seemed to have focused on the land where they were currently, for their livestock. Like Lot seeing the lush land where he chose...Re-look at Num 32: 4-5. And they *later mention their children, last after their livestock, in verse 16.

I read somewhere on chabad once that the 1/2 tribe of Manasseh was *added by Moshe (32:33) to keep Rueben/Gad in spiritual check. To be his brother's keeper. :) Reply
