Re: Understanding suffering You're right, there really is no good explanation. All we can do is hope and pray that G-d puts an end to it, and that we can transmit to our children only happiness and good times. Reply

I need a better answer to the 2000 years of suffering Surviving for the purpose of just suffering does not answer the question for me. Why have all these horrible things happened to us? Wouldn't it be better if we could not pass the hardship to our children? How does all this hardship match the verses of prays in our prayers? Reply

Exiled by Love! I heard those words, "Exiled in Love" last week while studying Torah. I didn't know what it meant but decided to pursue understanding. Then I found this teaching. I'm so convicted, humbled and blessed. Thank you Rabbi for this profound enlightenment. Reply

Love Criticism Rabbi Kaplan is my favorite lecturer on this website. I absolutely enjoy every one of his talks, and find most of them meaningful and applicable to my everyday life. One day I would like him to be my Rabbi. Reply

I was so sad this sabbat, could nothing but sleep and sleep, and could not understand why. Then, when sabbath was over, I found this teaching at chabad org, internett. To me amazing. I had never heard anything about the three sad weeks before now! This was very comforting, and this was an answer: Critism given because we are able to change! That it remindes us of our freedom, that it enables us! Thank you for sharing the words with all this love, wisdom and purety. Reply

without words..... May G-d bless Rav Mendel's life.....
He allowed the Divine Presence to guide his mouth and only G-d knows how these words touched a little heart, in a little country, from a little family....
and that little heart is mine.
