The sound of the shofar
is not the cry of a human voice.
It is the howl of an animal’s horn.
It is a cry so primal, so raw,
that the mind ceases to ponder,
the heart suspends its throb.
With the fury of a beast pent up in its cage,
the naked essence of the soul bursts out,
howling, ripping through heaven’s curtains,
awakening the primal essence of all being.
The raw core of your soul below

Here we are again with Rosh Hashanah coming upon us. The year went way very fast. This year has not been easier given that there is no peace in Israel. Without talking politics , may H' guide us for the sake of Am and Eretz Israel. May, this year be of personal growth and happiness for us as Jews ,with the constant reminder that we are not the ones in control of the world - except for personal behavior to be b'ederech. The shofar's "scream" is an urgent appeal to heaven with the reminder to humans of Tzedek tesedk Tirdof. We need more justice in this world while accepting H's decrees. That justice is our job., and when we return the next Rosh Hashanah with the same concerns we have not done our job regarding justice. It says tirdof= pursue try to catch it because it is not easy but it is doable. Reply
Awakening Call The shofar is the sound that awakens the place deep in our hearts to remind us to reunite the assembly of Israel to do G_d's will. Within that unity we reflect the quality of G-dliness to take care of each other. This holy state will then flow to all humanity. This is our mission . Then Israel will deserve redemption. Reply

I shall use words to describe:
TEKIAH is a loud long blast to awaken people to correction.
SHEVARIM is 3 broken sounds like a broken heart crying from the disconnect between us and between us and G_d.
TERUAH is 9 staccato blasts to awaken us to a new year, a new, spiritual connection between us.
It is time to blow the Messiah's Horn, to blow the shofar with the intention to disseminate the method of correction found in the deeper wisdom in the Torah and holy books.
The shofar like the ram's horn is able to be heard at far distances to disseminate the calling to redemption. The world feels it's dire state. The call to change our nature must reach out to all.

This seems to be saying that emotion is the raw essence of G-d.
I am inclined to believe it. What drives the creation of our bodies and the molding of our minds more than emotion?
What makes us think that the storm is not but an emotional expression of the moods of the earth?
The Hebrew word Shofar is being defined by its letters as : SHFR - FIre /Speak/ Person=Fire expressing self.
That word is deep.

Your beautifully written statement stirred within me, being an animal advocate, that the sound of the Shofar, a sound like no other made by human beings, calls to the world to take notice of the unspeakable betrayal human beings have committed to the creatures of our world - industrial animal production/transport/slaughter, the vile accepted torture of helpless animals imprisoned in research labs and those millions of companion pets dumped and abandoned in Killing Facilities, called animal shelters. In a mighty manner, the sound of the Shofar has additional significance for me and a growing number of people, Jews and non-Jews alike.
