The second thing a kosher inner animal requires is a split in its hooves—all the way through, down to the ground. .

There's got to be some light shining where your feet touch the ground.

Which means: When you look at the earth, and all the earthly things you're involved in, don't just see earth.

See light. See the divine spark within the earth, the light shining on the jewels between your toes.

Look carefully and ponder and you will find them there.

As King Solomon wrote in his Song of Songs, "G‑d is peeking through the cracks."
