As our world has slipped away from acknowledging Hashem and has rejected His user's manual - i.e. Torah - we have slipped further and further down on the lsit of the definitions of this word. It is instructive, to me, to remember that "Hell on earth" is #4, and to consistently treat others with respect and dignity - regardless of their points of view or their particular passions. I am reminded of a very wise person telling me, "Would you rather be right or happy - up to you". Reply

Woke is a huge misunderstanding. If Woke is enlightenment, then that means total tolerance and surrender to a Higher Power. Enlightenment or Woke doesn't mean my way or the highway. From its forerunner, namely Buddhism, which is also Kabbalah, which was probably the forerunner in the first place, we get the concept of enlightenment and that doesn't mean that there is only one way. It means that we are tolerant of all ways. The next step is surrender to a Higher Power. Reply

It is the lack of respect and imbalance of power that makes 1 turn into the other numbers. 2 different perspectives enhance problem solving in a good relationship. In science, diversity is the key to survival not homogeneity. I grew up in a family with 6 very verbal kids in the middle of nowhere with no real supervision. We all have different religions and opinions as adults. Because of this I love a good discussion and used to have fun as a teenager playing the devil’s advocate. In college, our international table talked about religion and cultural differences and politics. Now it seems like everyone in the world is fighting. One group/person has to dominate the other and there is no respect for the other person/group’s ideas. How do we get back to mutual respect and appreciation? Reply

Wow this is a tough one. It’s true and cuts right through, Not your typical uplifting post. I see this as a wake up call to personally strive for number one, a productive division of opinions. I’d like to say that’s how I conduct myself but I admit to myself I sometimes fall into number two. Gd forbid number three. This is a vital challenge. Thank you. Reply

Interesting as usual! I love number one, that’s all me, the questioning the challenging, through mutual respect. With my sister I am living number two. Not by my choices or actions that can justify it. And I see the world on number 3, independently of Covid! The world is diseased with corruption, materialism, lack of empathy, egoism and too many to name. Some might already see number 4! But I know it could be much worse, and it might become even worse, who knows. Unless something radically changes. Reply
