Before your soul descended to this world it burned with a passionate flame of love to merge within the divine, infinite light of G‑d.
Then it entered a body, a creature of sinews and bones. So that here it would learn the ultimate meaning of love.
The body will be your wick. The mitzvahs you do, the Torah you learn, they will be your fuel. A teacher will appear to reignite your flame.
And here you will learn that even a creature of meat and bones can yearn for the infinite light. Because, in truth, there is nothing outside that light.
So it's like we are dancing with G-d.
What is my soul if not a חלק אלוקי ממעל ממש ?
And yet, He is indivisible.
Hashem breathed into Adam a soul.
From His Innermost...
He gives us His Essence
His Thoughts...the Torah
His Speech...our physical world
His Breath...our souls
We are destined to infinitely yearn for His Light because it's Infinite. If the neshama learns from the animal soul, how can it be a חלק אלוקי ממעל ממש ? And if Ein Od Milvado, what is my soul? Especially if my soul needs to learn from it's animal host.
