The Other's World

In your world, all that exists is the Infinite and you. Everything else is but a medium by which the two of you connect.

Yet, in the world of the other guy, all that exists is the Infinite and them. You are but one of those means of connection.

And this other guy's world is just as true as yours.

Knowing this is also part of your world.

So that now, with trepidation, humility, and awe, you will enter this holy world of the other guy.

This beautiful fragment is talking about trepidation in entering another human being's world. Trepidation is the correct advice because it is almost impossible to know well the other perosn since assumptions are made based on the world a person lives. Trepidtation is linked with the respect. Only in that way can we make a connection so that we help each other in this world that is at times difficult to understand and control. That connection is done with the advice will give both individuals strenght to face the world and look up to H' and the Torah as guides how to be comfortable in this crazy world. Reply

More than accessories I loved the beginning of this. However, the teachings lost me when it described us as being merely accessories for each other. I was sad that someone could feel so limited in their ability to connect to others and a part of "the One" to have written this.
When synchronicities in life come together it is a reminder that we are all part of something larger than our limited ego selves. Though we may have limited personal consciousness, we are all part of a unified consciousness that is continually creating, developing and evolving. In my relationship with others, I learn and I give and I receive and I create with the inspirations we receive with each other. Deeply embedded through all of it is a great Love that is working through all of it to reach me and touch me and inspire me and help me feel more connected to everything and in great love for the world in all the ways that love manifests itself.
The world of transpersonal psychology helps show how we are all interconnected. Reply

True Rememberance When I was very young and into romance I only wanted to be larger than life For this other life I cared about...it was not until years upon years followed that I began to want to want t o face myself and engage myself more and see that I enjoyed ME then I would be with him also but I enjoyed my own company enormously-This had alot to do with my gradulal studying of Judaism...Actually learning to love myself-which is what I am talking about- gradually came about through my love of G-d and my ability to express it more and more in comments here on Chabad.org..Thank you so much for reading this Reply

Don't Knock me Block Off Let me just "comment" merely comment then get out of the way and let the better commentors get their words out there-here is what I wanted put out there as a comment from me about The Other's World:

First of all there seems to be a supported list - a spoken list here of do's and don'ts for the couple and what the woman has to understand about the man. Symbolic about the cow is the peace of mind to be had. And there is some hardship and the woman has to understand the man. This iis within a world....so it is going to go over like a lead balloon, as far as I'm concerned but here it is. The relationship between a man and a woman is never equal and the man always always leads for it to work out. Reply

The Other's World It is amazing to come to this realization! This message is the confirmation from our Living G-d. For coming to the conclusion that I could never make anyone accept the message of the Word of the Living G-d, with the revelation I have received from Him. Each individual in this world lives its own reality. Like myself, it is up to them to seek the Scriptures and communicate with our Living G-d. Most of us try to find that revelation on others by looking at their behavior or better said "example." But we are only human beings, not perfectly "holy." As we seek His presence and love Him, the transformation start to take place IN US. Until then, we become an accesory, and an interface. All we can do is communicate what we have learnt. It is up to the listener to do his/her part in finding G-d and getting the revelation. May we all learn that it is all in His hands. And rest in His Abiding love and peace by trusting in His infinite compassion and working wonders! What an awesome G-d we have!! Reply

Margaret, i agree with your comments wholeheartedly. After years of studying the depths of the Scriptures it seems to have increasingly separated me from more people. I've been where they are in the shallow waters of literacy and can share on that level, but it leaves me a bit empty. I'm not very good at "small talk", it makes me feel like I'm always holding back a big part of myself. It is very true that " out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks". I am so permeated and amazed with the Scriptures it has become who I am. Every new insight begs to be shared and validated, but no one seems to really care. I've lived, briefly, in all there worlds at one time or the other and in one way or another, but the world of the Torah and all that it entails always bring new life to my spirit, its deeper and wider than the average person has experienced, it's the never ending story. Accessories? Are we just tools, just accessories for one another? This in an interesting take on relationships. It rings true on the surface, but deeper down, this does not resonate with me. It makes us seem truly separate and disjointed. Can you please explain more? Reply
