Because this truly is the theme of all of Torah: The union of male and female energies, so that the world can operate in harmony.

The union of heaven with earth. Of soul with body. Of your spiritual life with your business life. Of light and mystery. Of Creator and creation.

There really is nothing else.

And it all begins with harmony between husband and wife.

I find that the acceptance of the simultaneous existence of opposites is a better way of thinking about the world, than straight logical arguments. It is illogical like having ones cake and eating it, yet if one thinks in a straight simple way, sooner or later one encounters conflicts that cannot otherwise be solved. Like one cannot prove the existence of G-d but to use science to disprove it leads to confusion. The trouble with religious belief is that it is 100% certain and the trouble with scientific knowledge is that it isn't ! Reply
