There’s one word at the conclusion of the creation story that gives everything away:

“…that G‑d created to do.”

“To do,” taught Rabbi Akiva, means to fix, to improve.

Heaven and earth were created so that you could discover your contribution to G‑d’s work, that one tweak only you can make to the universe.

And then the Creator can say, “Look at the world I made! Within it lies My most essential power—the power to create something new.”
