I think this fragment is quite on target. It is focusing on the obsessive personality that tends to see every detail, and need to fix it- until he/ 'she succeeds. Point blank, it is a waste of time and spending too much both too much energy and anxiety in just something! If one relaxes and let the world go by opportunities arise to help us achieve without excessive worries, Let H' worry because the world it in His control. Relax and se e the opportunities, catch them and resolve the issue, at hand. Then , relax again, and something new will come your way to fix and do a Mitzva . As humans some us want perfection, but perfection is null for us that is why we were thrown out of the G an Eden. H' is perfection, and if we trust H' we can then go through life and achieve without anxiety and worry. Reply
How does this statement reconcile with that of our mission of ´tikun olam´ ? since it envolves micromanaging our world ? also since The One above is doing that through our action here below. Reply
This is an important question.
His micromanagement does not involve controlling your actions. He leaves your choices up to you.
But you don't know what tikun your soul came here to perform. He does. So He either leads you to the place that needs tikun, or brings the thing that needs tikun to you. That's His micromanagement.
And that's where we often resist. And in the end it is futile. Eventually, you will have to face this tikun, no matter how hard you try to avoid it.

I can attest to Rabbi Freeman's response. We have free will. I found my purpose late in life. I was born to an orthodox Jewish family. Went to a Hebrew Day School in Cape Town (Herzlia). Was deep into my Jewish roots. Along the way in adulthood, while a very proud Jew, I focused on the material world until one morning, I felt a deep need to rejoin my tribe and find purpose. Today I feel blessed to financially assist my brethren in need, particularly during this difficult time in Israel and the diaspora.
