Together

On a spiritual level, the city of Jerusalem is built within our hearts. When the hearts of the people connect with love, care, mercy and kindness between them, they are aligned with G_d's qualities. These connections form a divine structure that nobody can destroy. The 'bricks' of this holy 'city' are bonded with G_d's light between them. Spiritually, G_d's light flows between the hearts of the people in this this holy structure, The Ten Sefirot.

Let's build the city of Jerusalem in our hearts. A model city, a blueprint for all humanity. The Jewish people must be a light to humanity so all will be included in the peace of Jerusalem. Reply

I find the responses, in general wanting. I think some thoughts deserve a hearing but somehow all is disconnected to the dose of wisdom that the Rabbi tried to instill in us. in this specific dose. The notion of the people of Israel (am Israel) working in unison for a goal such as protecting Yerushalayim by being a cooperative unit then we will be rewarded with keeping this sacred city. it is the goal: Jews qua Jews working together -not because of the religious division but despite of them ! . The simile is like that of a a father in a family seeing his children happy playing and helping each other building empathy love and cooperation. We lost Yerushalayim before do we want to loose it again? Reply

Unfortunately, at this point in time, the Jewish people do not present a cohesive unit. The people are divided along the political spectrum, and instead of speaking out against the resurgence of An-Semitism,as a unit, they argue political direction.
The Jewish people need to come together and speak out in courage.

it really hit me - all i could visualize was a couple of brothers and/or sisters conspiring how to get away with something fun without being caught. (of course i'm talking the 50's, when it was a big thing to sneak out of the house and hang out with friends in the neighborhood). think all the parents knew, but didn't say anything to spoil the thrill!

of course the other comments about not following the crowd, even if it would put us in a bad way, takes determination and lots of courage, which hopefully we all are blessed with.

Chesed So true that i can hardly believe i am hearing it from a Chabad rabbi. You need a Chabad.org for rabbis only site. They don't know this stuff. They tend to be heavier on the severe/Gevurah side of discipline. The rabbis wife needs to be told about it. Let her handle the situation adroitly, appropriately. If she asks for help, then let the rabbi give advice. This is especially necessary for young children. They need Chesed/lovingkindness. Reply

In Trouble Together It is very true that "unity" is the force. And using this word "force" because it is what impel all good, or bad, in this world. Growing up in a home where siblings, and parents are constantly in a battle with jealousy, which I believe is the worst poison in the world, is not an easy thing. On top of it, is the wrong teaching, or not teaching at all. Parents can try to teach their children to conduct themselves according to social standards, good. But if their example is not "good" these children grow up not knowing what really "good" is. All they know is what their family taught them. To find later on in life that there is another "good." A better "good life" which they never knew before. This is devastating. Once we truly find G-d, the only One. When we learn all the "GOOD THINGS" our True Father wanted for us, then that is when we start to realize how wrong our life was. Then that is when we see the lack of "unity." When there is no love for every one, men/women, there is no G-ood. Reply

A Mess of Crazy Children This act of loving patience is so powerful and realistic and comes at a real good time for me. I'm looking back in a different way and learning from what people have said about me. For one thing said: I would have made a great mother-as a matter of fact I was one-to a bunch of musicians and artists who as was put acted great acrimoniusly but not harmoniusly-and their music and art is a reflection of this fact-even though I have written about them in the past in an angry way they were my children so I tend to vascilate in my ideas on exactly how to cope with how they acted with each other actually-but my behaviour with them was loving..as G-d would have wanted me to be---all ears-always the listener-conveying the idea of "Don't compare yourself to others"- Thank you for listening Reply

Newspapers quelling group violence Mass psychology is inseparable from news writing. Newspapers CREATE news by sharing ideas which people copy or respond to. Newspapers change the world by sharing ideas which shape peoples thoughts, opinions & actions. Therefore a newspaper can quell violence by sharing peace inducing ideas. A newspaper can prevent additional violence by keeping the entire population calm (by sharing peace inducing, soothing ideas, while intentionally withholding information which might lead to more violence.) Newspapers create wars by sharing ideas which agitate people & newspapers end wars by sharing ideas which calm people down. It is very easy to spark a fire but putting a fire out is very difficult & the fire will consume everyone it can including the person who sparked it therefore it would be best if journalists would make a conscious effort to prevent major catastrophe by keep everyone calm (by printing only the most peace inducing articles while intentionally withholding agitating information.) Normally sensible individuals commit horrific crimes when influenced by other people which is y I must carefully ? & analyze everything, especially when "everyone else is doing it." 2 to a billion people perpetuate horrific crimes together, crimes they would never commit if they function alone, as individuals. Sensible individuals commit horrific crimes because they r swept into a fantasy perpetuated by rallies, speeches, TV, radio, newspapers. Think 4 yourself because "wars r not fought 4 territory, but 4 words. Man's deadliest weapon is language. He is as susceptible 2 being hypnotized by slogans as he is 2 infections diseases. & when there is an epidemic, the group mind takes over." Every single war is avoidable & the damage is considerably lessened when the sane people think 4 themselves instead of allowing themselves to b brainwashed by misleading slogans & images perpetuated by highly charismatic but sick individuals in rallies, TV, newspapers, speeches & classrooms. No, we cannot do the wrong thing simply because everyone else is doing it. After every single genocide, including the Holocaust, the murderers always say exactly the same things:

1. "I did it because everyone else was doing it."

2. "I was just following orders"

It may be important to love, but it is not acceptable to sin simply because everyone else is committing the same sin. And those few who refuse to sin while the rest of the group was sinning (like those who sheltered Anne Frank's Family, and Schindler) are always remembered as heroes once all of the horrible mass psychosis is over. Wasn't the Tribe of Levi was granted special status because they refused to worship the golden calf while everyone else did? The phoenix was granted eternal life as a reward for refusing to eat the forbidden fruit offered by Eve, while all of the other birds did eat of the forbidden fruit (The Legends of the Jews, by Ginzberg).
