It almost seems as if Abram and Lot had learned from the mistakes of Cain and Abel, by separating and going forth to share the whole world open before them when a conflict arose instead of fighting each other. Still, the land did not yet belong to either of them since what was there had not been worked by either.

There also seems to be a lesson here tying into the end of Parshat Noach, which is beyond my understanding. Noach gets drunk and becomes unable to have any more descendants. Lot gets drunk and has children. Reply

another president jewishly impacted... Hi Rabbi
I had occasion to visit mr Mandela with some fellow artists. We were permitted to give him gifts amongst which I gave him a CD of fabulous European Klezmer niggunim. I visualised and intended that he and his wife Graca would privately enjoy the Jewish beat with a good Jive to 'our' music.
