All the world’s problems stem from light being withheld.
Our job then, is to correct this. Wherever we find light, we must rip away its casings, exposing it to all, letting it shine forth to the darkest ends of the earth.
Beginning with the light you yourself hold.

I don't believe the divine spark within us can be withheld, but I do believe that it can be diminished by materialism, altruistic attachments, despair, and/or loves failures. We can uncover and free the divine spark within ourselves and others through compassion, kindness, reflection, and transcending worldly values through Torah study, prayer, meditation, and GD's Love.

Shalom, This post speaks to my soul. I was out in the community to day and a lady where I was, was working on a document. I was there seated and working on my things. She needed help at her station, and was asking the clerks there for help (technological). The clerks kept telling her they could only offer certain type of help. She was a novice. This went on for a while, and because of the love of God in me, I could not let this go on. I went over to her (offering help) I sat beside her and helped her with the correcting, data entry, formatting, printing, and saving etc…along with her daughter (the lady also had her little baby there). I prayerfully shared what I knew, giving suggestions while getting her input. I showed her how to do certain things so that she could print her document and would know how to do certain things the next time. God is good and so are his people. Shalom Shalom,

Much love to you for your kind encouraging words. I give God all the glory! Yes, I agree with you that we all are called to be a blessing. We, God’s people, are children of blessed father Abraham. This is the will of God for our lives. The Lord sends, regularly, people to us. We just need to see prayerfully through the eyes of the living God who they are, and then do his will. As we do so, we too will be a recipient of the love of God through someone else. Let us all let his light shine in us and through us! Like the sun in the sky. Love and Light are "One," and is our "divine" core GD-breathed essence. We are GD's Masterpiece "gifted" with His Love and Light, to do good deeds, and to change the world for His glory. So, let our true self express our "gift" of love and light, radiate and illuminate its beauty, dissipate darkness and fears, heal, reconcile, restore, and bring hope and joy to a world cloaked in darkness. Our love and light may not seem like much, but in GD's Hand - it's powerful. Thank you.

"Vayechi Or" = and there was light. We really can't see if there is not enough light. Light illuminates, and helps us see the contours of objects, people and nature. We delight in what we see, Yet, the light can also be internal, since each of us was created from the same source as the light . H'.
When we find our calling , and contribute to society, we make more light. I knew since I was young that my calling was to be a teacher, and show others what I understood. It is not a very well paid profession, but I didn't care because there is nothing more satisfying that seeing a child, or a grown up, understand something new for them. That is our task on this earth, to produce more light, so that it bring comfort and peace. then people see better ! Let us not waste time because H' is waiting for us. That is the real meaning of "Tikkun Olam" - not going after victims like the "palestinians" that do want us to disappear! Not a Jewish value at all

Light is G-d’s love given to us. Our duty is to reflect that love/light out into a world too accepting of darkness. Reply

The light is the good deeds and guidance Jews are to provide the world to make it a better place and prepare the world for the coming of the Messiah. It can be a smile, a sincere thank you, holding the door for one who needs it, comforting the sick, and so on. At least, that is my understanding. Reply
Truly a depth of understanding that is the foundation of pupose for humanity. This, this was so perfectly worded and truthful, and yet I never have used those words before. I try to make light and warmth from a fire when I write stories and make pictures. I try to write wholesome stories. Reply
Remove the casings? I feel light everywhere. I am slowly getting used to it. One day I found myself hiding in a parking garage during the last Passover because it was so overwhelming. I don’t know how to “remove the casings,” but I am reading the daily Torah and Chabad.org stuff, and incorporating Mitzvahs more and more when I don’t forget. Thanks for the words of wisdom, it helps me get back up on bad days. I love the concept of Teshuvah. Although, my sister was complaining about the fact that words of wisdom when you need help are often in foreign languages. So the poor person struggling for light has to translate the wisdom first. Thankfully we have google translate so wisdom can now be understood in any language. That said, is there a translation for “remove the casings”? Reply

Our sages tell us He aims to connect all the scattered sparks back into One spiritual system - One Soul. Only He has the blueprint for the mechanics of this complex interconnected body.
Our participation is to is FEEL 100% the desire to love thy friend as thyself - This inclination to be like G_d will attract the Upper Light to perform all the corrections of your qualities to form the harmonius relationship required by your role in His final system.
The sages who attained their spiritual elevation understood the mechanics of the Light acting on them through many degrees along the spiritual correction meant for all to receive.
They explained the process in The Zohar and the Study of the Ten Sefirot , The Tree of Life etc.
We also participate by revealling the message from the sages to inspire others to the Goal.

exposing the light going along with Stella - to me, simply, the world is FULL of ways to expose the light (from within ourselves)! i used to think well - i'm not educated, learned, smart, what light could i have - but we ALL - in our OWN way - can shed what light we have inside - it's great! personally, i just look "outward" - i believe G-d definitely puts things geared to your inner light right in front of your eyes! Rip away the veils of the Torah - see a new world
Red flags are flashing in our financial, economic, educational, social etc systems. As we see, band aid fixes to continue the old paradigms won't work anymore.
The global, interconnected world needs to function in a new direction. A higher order of interconnected funtioning and unity is required.
It is time to understand the inner wisdom of the Torah. All those who labour to perceive this wisdom are responsible to spread it until the wisdom is known 'from the greatest to the smallest...even to children'. Then the world will be merited to the new path by the Light instead of by suffering.

Light?
What is light? Do you mean awareness? Consciousness? Sustained attention? Light is a force that reveals, heats, exposes, cleanses (as in antibacterial light therapies), and cuts (laser surgery). You speak as if directing the force of light is something we can initiate and control, like turning on a light switch. Well, yes we can if we know where the switch is...
You mention in one of the two volumes of "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" that the Rabbi M.M. Schneerson said in response to a student's question that, "his [the Rebbe's] job is to help our hand find the switch." I need help in finding the switch!

Exposting the Light I think, the best way to reveal the light within is whenever we have the opportunity to talk to even strangers, to link the conversation to a marvel of God's creation or an aspect of faith. I find this works not only in making new friends, but also spreading the word of God. Ofcourse, some think one if crazy. So what! God inspires people i.e. prepares them to receive and then puts us together. Reply
Revealling the light Sometimes the problem includes knowing how best to reveal the light within. Most of us probably feel the shells blocking its personal revelation. Reply
Our soul is like a vessel. It is a container to hold the light. To merit G_d's light to fill the soul we must correct our attributes to be like G_d.
We must constantly feel a network between us as if we are one body in which each part is ready to fulfill the other. This generates a holy structure since G_d's presence , the 'Shechinah, His light, dwells within.
The light contained in this Soul is radiated to all humanity. The hatred, divisiveness and conflict calms down. The darkest places fill with light.
