To come back home takes but a moment.
One moment a being is at an ultimate distance from her G‑d and from her true self; the next she is in complete union.
The power to return is beyond time.

Oh! Yes! Rabbi Tzvi!! This is true. It happened to me just now! After the better paert of a lifetime of prayer, longing and searching, and struggling, when I was not expecting it, i looked up from everything I was trying to do to find my own way home, to see that not only had I arrived at the place where I knew I belonged with G-d, but the door had been opened for me and I was welcomed in to take my own very special seat. Thank G-d! Reply
Thank you Rabbi Freeman! Your Daily Doses are a spiritual refreshment that shapes my day.
Time is a human construct, finite by its essence. Yes, when we return, time no longer is real, His Infinity is all. One moment is the same, there is no next or previous.

Beyond time
You are referring to Shechinah? (I just finished Chaps 36 & 37 in Tanya - the hardest study I have ever done!) I just want to check my comprehension.
Thanks!

Space - Your Distance from G_d We are separated from G_d by our opposite qualities - to close the gap between Him and us we need to go beyond ourself. When we operate by the principle to "love thy friend as thyself" then in that moment we will attract G_d's Light. Each time we accomplish this union the Light builds our soul and us to bring us closer to G_dliness. Reply
I really feel connected with this thought. This is how I explain to have felt close to Judaism 5 years ago, and how close I feel again today ... this time not to give up the faith and the passion. The power HAS returned on / to me! It his divine indeed. Reply
Daily Dose - Beyond time I wonder about the use of "her" and "she" for "a being" in this message. Was that choice because the word "neshama" (soul) is feminine? Reply
Freedom to Choose the "power" is choice. Reply
Comment on Thought for the Day "Beyond Time" What a great thought. Furthermore, the power to return is not only beyond time, it is beyond space, and space-time, and the speed of light, etc. True, the dynamic of returning does take place primarily in the spiritual realm, where there is no distance, time, or laws of energy and inertia. Or at least these dimensions and laws are not like our physical dimensions and laws. But, in either realm, instantaneous travel is still quite an amazing concept. It's seems almost "divine." Reply
Coming back home into the arms of the Divine Presence of our Holy G d, Blessed Be He, is the most awesome, overwhelming experience one can experience. Not one of us is ever too far gone or too far away that we aren’t able to take that first step toward returning to G d, our Divine Creator. It’s never G d who keeps us from reaching out to him, it’s always us as his creations thinking it’s too late, our lives are too muddled down with sin or convincing ourselves G d will now turn his cheek or his back away from us. G d actually awaits our return and is so happy to greet us again, it’s just like the first day all over again when we were created. Never put off this joyous reunion for another day not even another hour; because we never know when our time is up to take that step and we’re gone from this earthly presence.
