Be within.
But stay above.
Be within.
But stay above.
I seem to need vision correction quite frequently.
Thank you for the reminder!

Be within, but stay above Before the universe and world was created, there was G-d, infinite, and one. He created a proverbial space within Himself, from which He withdrew, in order to allow room for things to exist. We live within this world, where G-d hides Himself, and sometimes in barely visible in His handywork. We must as Jews live within this world, yet at the same time realize we are part of Something that is also above, and encompasses the world. Knowing this, we can do our job which is to elevate our world spiritually to the point where G-d can dwell within it, and become visible to all. We are within the world as physical beings, yet our souls are above it. I hope this helps you to understand, Sara from Cyprus. Reply

The Sum is Spirituality - The Parts is an illusionary world. The purpose of the 'external world' is to connect it back within ourselves as part of you instead of it's alienated feel. By giving us the illusion of separtate parts, G_d provided us a 'springboard' to sense Him, through love and bonding with 'others'. The more we are able to annul the self and connect with others, we will attain the sensation of G_d. We are obliged to sustain ourselves in this world, but must remember it is really a tool to allow us to develop the spiritual sense to attain the revelation of the upper world and it's governing Force. See poem I wrote.
Out and In
When searching for Him
know well His place
Inside of soul
Outside of space.
Climb levels of thought
to the height of your mind.
Reach deep in your heart
and Him you will find.
Learn with your head.
Feel from within
and where to look
is out and in.

thank you Thank you Dr. Harry Hamburger and Stephen. Reply
Shema Your lesson on the Shema does this. "Shema ..." perspective from Above, and "Baruch shem kavod ..." perspective from here below. I think the Modeh Ani lesson gives a similar double perspective. Reply
The Sum
Please explain -
G-d in my heart is within. Spiritualism is above the earthly pleasures.
Is it that simple?

The Sum
Very cryptic Rabbi and Zen master Tzvi. Sometimes saying less means more!
One must live within the physical world, and remember at the same time that there is a world above ours to which our soul is attached. Ours is a world of folly, sin, and illusion, yet we are here to help repair it, while living above it at the same time.

*Be within: have and cherish your Jewish identity and live as a Jew the best way you can following the commandments,
* Stay above means don't forget to keep your identity (keep your place) and connnect with the Master of the Universe.
Simple word but a good wonderful task.
