Greetings and blessings,
My telegram and letter regarding the elections and their cancellation were no doubt received and you will reply to them….
A peripheral point: The commentaries to Esther Rabbah1have questioned the relevance of the quote “Do not read בניך, ‘your sons’; instead, read בוניך, ‘your builders,’” in this context. That question can be resolved with the preface of another question. [The Midrash is citing this verse] as a prooftext that “the attributes of the Holy One, blessed be He, are abundant.” How does it prove that concept?
To answer that question, the Midrash states: “Do not read בניך, ‘your sons,’ read בונָך, bonach, ‘the One Who builds you,’” i.e., it refers to the Holy One, blessed be He, Who brings the Jews into being and establishes them with many different supports. The printer, however, erred and followed the text found at [the conclusion of tractate] Berachos. Hence, erroneously, he printed בוניך with a yud.
Enclosed is the kuntres published for Purim and a copy of a letter2 that is relevant to you. It is my hope that you find them interesting.
Signing with blessings for a joyous Purim,
