This letter was sent to several of the leading chassidim in Eretz Yisrael, personally addressed to each one.

B”H, the Seventh Day of Chanukah, 5711,

Greetings and blessings,

A suggestion was made to me that it would be proper to establish in our Holy Land several central places as public reading rooms where all the publications of Kehot could be gathered together and presented.

In general, I agree to the suggestion, but I do not want to enter into any [inner] political [wrangles]. Therefore I would like to hear your opinion about this — to where and to whom — i.e., to which of our institutions to send the books.

With blessings and with honor,

Menachem Schneerson
