Greetings and blessings,
In response to your letters of the Thursday [of the week of] Parshas Va’eira and the Friday [of the week of] Parshas Shmos:
Thank you for the good news regarding the improvement of Mrs. ....’s health. You will undoubtedly continue to inform me of the progressive improvement of her condition until she recovers entirely.
I was happy to hear that you were invited and are traveling to Louisville to speak. Certainly, you will also use this opportunity to spread the idea that now, more than ever in America, it is impossible to enjoy the health of the soul (and, as a natural consequence, the health of the body as well) without a strong foundation of faith. This is particularly true of youth who are still searching for their path in life.
It would be beneficial for you to write down such speeches. Aside from the fact that you could use them again, they would also be of benefit to others.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to include Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch among the organizations which the Federation of your community should support. Seemingly, Mr. Bubis could also assist in this. It is an established principle that — as stated in the well-known adage of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ1 — effort does not go unrewarded.
With blessing,
Menachem Schneerson
