Greetings and blessings,
In response to your letter from Sunday of [Parshas Bo] in which you notify [me] that you found a new apartment….
You should dedicate the dwelling with Torah study, i.e., you should first study in one of its rooms with some of your students and then study the teachings of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, alone at the very least.
To your wife, relate that I am amazed at the notice [I received] that she is sad regarding all the above. She is the daughter of a chassid and the wife of a chassid and she herself possesses chassidic understanding and feeling. Where then does this sadness come from? [On the contrary,] she should be happy because of all the goodness G‑d granted her until now. Happiness breaks through boundaries, enabling what is lacking at present to be granted. I would appreciate it if you would inform me that she carries out [this directive].
With blessings of Mazel Tov and [wishes for] success in your new dwelling,
Menachem Schneerson
