Greetings and blessings,

I acknowledge receipt of your letter after a long intermission. Thank you very much for your efforts to enable Mr. Menashe Rosenblatt and his wife to immigrate to your country [Australia.] Certainly, you should now be watchful to also encourage Dr. Hanigbaum and the others who are involved with this. May it be G‑d’s will that [the Heavenly mission entrusted to you] be successful, enabling [the persons] mentioned to reach “the resting place and the heritage.”1

I took great pleasure in your statements that the words of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ — that a person is given the potential to refine and elevate his place — are engraved in your memory. This memory itself will help you bring the powers that you possess from a hidden state into revelation, enabling you to act and influence [the people] in your surroundings, drawing them close to Judaism, and illuminating them with the light of the Torah and warming them with the warmth of Chassidus, the luminary of the Torah.

What is fundamentally important is that you be strong in your trust in G‑d that after journeying to your country1 with the consent and blessing of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, your presence there is his responsibility. With the appropriate effort, you will certainly be successful in the above. Do not worry about the fact that you are — to use your wording — surrounded by material debts in addition to your spiritual debts. For the obligations of the Omnipresent are His responsibility. [As implied by the verse,]2 “One who is gracious to the poor has lent to G‑d,” since you have gone into debt in order to be gracious to the poor, whether materially or spiritually, G‑d is the borrower. And thus one can be assured that the debt will be repaid in its entirety.

As per your request, I will mention you, your wife, and the chassidic mentor... at the holy gravesite. The “tzaddik who has departed and who is to be found in this world more than during his lifetime”3 will certainly give his blessing, and G‑d will fulfill his blessings in material and spiritual matters.

Enclosed are the kuntreisim for the 9th of Teves4 and the 24th of Teves5 and communal letters relevant to them.6 Even though these dates have passed, the concepts are relevant at all times.

With blessings for success and greetings to your household and the entire fellowship,

M. Schneerson
