Greetings and blessings,
In response to your letter of the eighth day of Chanukah: I derived satisfaction from hearing about the fixed times for Torah study that you have established. You must, however, also add fixed times for the study of the teachings of Chassidus. The appropriate time for [this study] is, at the very least, on Monday, Thursday, and Shabbos so that three days will not pass1 without [the study of] the Torah’s inner dimensions. Whoever increases will have an increase made for him.2 Certainly, you are aware of the statements in several sources that a ritual slaughterer must have a greater measure of the fear of Heaven.3 (See the responsa of the Tzemach Tzedek, Yoreh Deah, responsum 12.)
It is very good that you protect yourself against fatigue when you are required to serve in your profession as a ritual slaughterer. May it be G‑d’s will that everything proceed in a proper manner and that you will be able to share good tidings about your affairs in general and, in particular, that you will have been granted viable offspring.
With blessings for you and for your household,
Menachem Schneerson
