Tefillin are soul cables.
They connect your mind to your heart and your heart to your hands so that they all work as a single whole.
They connect your body and soul to the Infinite Light above, connecting you to endless power.
And they connect you to every other Jew in the world. Because we are all one.
You wrap tefillin here and another Jew on the other side of the world is empowered to overcome every challenge of life.
Is a very nice saying that all Jews are connected via Tefillin, however, what happens with women who don't put on Tefillin? They are not part of this 'universal' Jewish soul? Are we left out?

I was thinking the same thing, but then I did a little research and found a in-depth answer. The Tefillin is placed on the mind [intellect] and arm closest to the heart [the seat of the emotion and desire], which reflects the submission to the Almighty, and the rule of the intellect over the emotions. The 3rd Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel the Tzemach Tzedek states that the Tefillin represents the divine attributes of kindness and severity flow into the world. Inside the boxes are white paper with the Shema written on it, which represents Divine Light. On Shabbat, women light the candles. The flow of the divine attributes are concealed or hidden in the color black. The Rebbe states that the color black do not mix with any other colors, and shows GD's absolute unity, oneness that does not lend itself to any additional attributes or parts.
