“A river went out from Eden to water the garden.”
Eden is G‑d's delight in His creation.
It is a delight that lies far beyond the garden, beyond all created things.
Yet its river nurtures all that grows in there.
Adam and Eve were placed in the garden. They were tasked with uncovering the Eden flowing within each thing.
This, too, is why you were placed in this world, and why you were given Torah to learn and mitzvahs to do:
To reach beyond your world, to its essence, to the inner beauty and wonder that guides it.
To Eden.
