nullification and greatness This lesson is really complicated. Of course it doesn't make any sense to worship Creation instead of the Creator, but as human beings, we can only share brief moments of infinity. That state of existence can only be maintained by the greatest of Tzaddikim. Therefore, we cannot nullify ourselves either, and does G-d really want that? Aren't we created to be partners with G-d to elevate the lowest world? And aren't human beings something great when we are fulfilling G-d's mandates? Reply

To be a higher thinker is the key. Being a small thinker, or thinking too narrow without looking beyond our normal scope of sight is the culprit it seems. I love when I look at the scope of the universe and all its happenings with a broad awareness. Have more awareness beyond myself and respond accordingly always with love and compassion. Reply

I really needed this. Life doesn't always go like a white picket fence. At those times it seems easier to want to escape from the uncomfortableness and even anguish by playing with the 'toys' and then getting side tracked and addicted to the toys. All is for G-d's glory. There is some tension between the need for self-nullification before G-D and the need to actively partner with G-d for Tikun Olam. One needs some energy and ego for the leadership and activism of doing Tikun. Sometimes this can lead to hubris as was the case in the sons of Aharon in lighting incense they were not commanded to light. Nevertheless they achieved much up until that moment due to their activism in their service. The goal is to find a balance between self-nullification and activism - not an easy task. Reply
